Westport STEM Scholars and members of the 8th grade class were invited to Digital Harbor Foundation on March 13 to experience the process of 3D printing. The students learned about the 3D printing history and applications in STEM-based fields. They also learned about printing design software, Tinkercad, and even got to design their own key chains that were 3D printed!
At the end of the event, they were quizzed on their knowledge of what they had learned and worked together to find the answers. The unique opportunity allowed each student to understand the design process and mechanics of 3D printing, and they can remember those lessons with their key chains.
