FLL News

LET’S GO supported two teams that competed at the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Baltimore City Qualifier at Baltimore IT School on Saturday, 2/6. Westport Academy Elementary/Middle’s Westport Trash Fighters” and the team from Living Classrooms – Crossroads showed off the hard work they’ve put in this year designing, building, and programming their own robots, engaging with FLL’s core values, and creating a project that address a problem relating to waste for this year’s “Trash Trek” theme. The two teams came together at the event, demonstrating Gracious Professionalism(TM) by sharing food and advice and cheering one another on at the Robot Game. School and parental support was strong at the event, with Westport represented by their coach, LaWanda Green, their after-school’s STEM instructor, and school principal, Melody Locke. Living Classrooms -Crossroad’s team was supported by their coach, Josh Branham from Code in the Schools, many family members, one of whom graciously acted as a videographer for both teams. The students look forward to continuing their robotics involvement this spring with support from LET’S GO and hope to join together again for a scrimmage match.
