LET’S GO has a unique opportunity to work with students in a very remote area in the country of Haiti. The LET’S GO Junior Engineers and Scientists Series [J.E.S.S.] is a way of introducing hands on – minds on learning in the Kay Anj Village. Helping Haitian Angels has brought this activity into the students and teachers lives and it has been met with enthusiasm and curiosity. Students learn about topics like drag or air resistance by creating a paper airplane and observing this force act on that design. Taking ownership and using STEM practices allows students to understand what STEM professionals do every day. Students act as Safety Engineers or Engineers In Training by wearing the gear the real pros wear like lab coats and hard hats. We are so excited to see these students loving STEM!
