Instructors at Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys participated in a LET’S GO STEM training in January. Learning by Doing has always been one of the core concepts at LET’S GO and that applies to both students and teachers. One of the STEM activities explored is Ecology Academy, a wonderful K-5th gr. introduction to how organisms, including humans, interact with their environment. Instructors built a pollinator [bee] model and began to understand how the bees body structure works well with the plant or flowers structure to complete the task of pollination. The challenge was to move pollen [powdered sugar] from the bees legs/body to the flower. It was a sticky situation!
